QCU Holds University Convocation as Part of University Week Celebration
Quezon City University (QCU) gathered faculty, staff, and students for a university-wide convocation on March 3, 2026, as part of the celebration of this year’s University Week.
The program began with an impressive ROTC demonstration at the open grounds, showcasing precision, discipline, and pride among the cadets. An ROTC exhibit was also set up, highlighting the training and commitment of the students to service and leadership.
During the convocation, university and city leaders delivered messages encouraging students and recognizing the role of the QCU community in advancing the university’s mission.
In her address, QCU President Theresita V. Atienza highlighted the leadership approach of Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, describing it as “inclusive, science-based, transparent, and ecocentric,” reflecting the mayor’s vision for accountable and sustainable governance.
Mayor Belmonte expressed appreciation for the QCU community’s continued support of the city’s initiatives. “Salamat sa inyong pakikiisa sa adbokasiya ng ating lungsod,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Isagani M. Tano, Vice President for Academic Affairs, encouraged students to embrace challenges and learn from their mistakes. “Wag kayo matakot magkamali, ang mahalaga bumangon at matuto,” he reminded them.
The convocation served as an opportunity to bring together the QCU community while celebrating student participation and leadership during the University Week festivities.
