SDG 4 9 17

Quezon City University (QCU) proudly celebrated AGSIKAP 2025: “Pagpupugay at Pagkilala sa mga Agsikap” at the QCU Auditorium on May 3, 2025. This annual recognition event honored the university’s newly licensed Certified Industrial Engineers (CIEs), Electronics Engineers (ECEs), and Electronics Technicians (ECTs) from the College of Engineering.

AGSIKAP 2025 underscored the university’s mission to recognize academic excellence, foster professional achievement, and inspire future engineers to pursue their dreams with perseverance and purpose.

University President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza delivered a powerful welcome address, emphasizing hard work, service, and excellence—not only in engineering but also in nation-building.

The highlight of the program was the awarding of certificates to the newly licensed professionals. Each awardee was applauded for their dedication and success in their respective licensure and certification examinations, receiving certificates that symbolized their commitment, skills, and perseverance.

Two alumni shared their journeys to inspire current students:

  • Engr. Jessica Torres, a 2021 BS Industrial Engineering graduate, shared her story of becoming a Certified Industrial Engineer, Civil Service Professional Eligibility Passer, and accredited Safety Officer. Now a Project Development Officer at the Department of Education, she encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning and shared how she is currently pursuing a second degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engr. Aya Vanessa Zaragoza, a 2023 BS Electronics Engineering graduate, detailed her experiences as Chairperson of IECEP-QCU’s Student Chapter and how her technical training in networking, cybersecurity, and electronics prepared her for her current role at the DENR’s Environmental Management Bureau, Air Quality Management Section. She urged students to stay curious, take every opportunity, and contribute to the greater good.

In his closing message, Dr. Ryan F. Arago, Dean of the College of Engineering, commended the awardees and thanked the speakers and organizers. He reminded students of the importance of cultivating both competence and character in engineering, and encouraged them to follow the examples of the day’s honorees.
