Strengthening Partnership: Quezon City Public Library Visits QCU for Benchmarking and Academic Collaboration
In a unified effort to foster academic synergy and mutual learning, the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) conducted a benchmarking and academic collaboration visit to Quezon City University (QCU) on April 29, 2025.
The delegation, led by City Librarian Ms. Mariza G. Chico and composed of selected QCPL librarians, engaged in meaningful discussions with QCU’s library team headed by Ms. Edlyn O. Aquino. Also in attendance were Dr. Ryan Arago, QCU Officer-in-Charge, and Dr. Randel DL. Estacio, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, both of whom expressed strong support for the initiative.
The visit featured a rich exchange of best practices in library management, innovations in service delivery, and exploration of potential collaborative projects. Key areas of discussion included the sharing of electronic resources, joint community outreach programs, and professional development opportunities for library staff. Participants also toured QCU’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the university library, urban farm, and robotics laboratory—highlighting the institution’s commitment to sustainability and technological integration in education.
This initiative reinforces QCU’s mission to enhance educational resources, promote literacy, and strengthen community engagement. Through its partnership with QCPL, the university seeks to broaden access to digital and open learning materials, inspire greater participation in literacy advocacy, and continuously improve library services.
The collaboration marks a significant step toward a strategic alliance between two cornerstone institutions of Quezon City, united in their goal of advancing knowledge, innovation, and community empowerment.
