QCU Advances Engineering Education Quality Through CHED RQAT Evaluation
The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) Program of Quezon City University (QCU) marked a significant milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence as it successfully underwent the preliminary assessment conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on February 20, 2026.
The comprehensive evaluation forms part of CHED’s quality assurance framework, which ensures that higher education institutions meet national standards in delivering relevant, outcomes-based, and industry-aligned engineering education. The assessment included thorough document reviews, program evaluation, facility inspections, and meaningful discussions with university officials, faculty members, and program stakeholders.
QCU had the honor of welcoming distinguished evaluators from CHED who led the assessment process: Engr. Glenn N. Ortiz, Ms. Maridel T. Negradas, Engr. Marianne Yumul, and Mr. Bryan Uy. Their expertise, insights, and guidance provided valuable direction for strengthening the program and ensuring its continued alignment with national and global engineering education standards.
The successful conduct of the assessment reflects the unwavering commitment of QCU’s academic leadership, including QCU President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Isagani M. Tano and College of Engineering Dean Engr. Ryan F. Arago. Their dedication to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement has played a vital role in advancing the quality of engineering education at the University.
This milestone highlights QCU’s proactive efforts to ensure that its Electrical Engineering graduates are equipped with the competencies, technical expertise, and professional values needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
