QC Council Confirms ReAppointment of Dr. Atienza as QCU President

    • In a strong display of continued trust and support, the Quezon City Council has confirmed the fixed-term reappointment of Dr. Theresita V. Atienza as President of Quezon City University (QCU).

    The reappointment, signed by Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte, affirms Dr. Atienza’s exemplary leadership in guiding QCU towards academic excellence, inclusive growth, and progressive governance.

    The resolution, introduced during a regular session by Councilors Eric Z. Medina (6th District) and Godofredo T. Liban II (2nd District), formally endorses Dr. Atienza’s designation in accordance with Section 454 (d) and Section 455 (b)(1)(v) of Republic Act No. 7160, or the Local Government Code of 1991. These provisions mandate that heads of departments and equivalent positions be appointed by the local chief executive with the concurrence of the city council.
