Message of the Hon. Ma Josefina G. Belmonte, City Mayor, on QCU’s 30th Foundation Anniversary

Mabuhay! It is with immense joy and pride that I would like to greet the students, teaching, non-teaching staff, and administration of Quezon City University with a happy 30th Founding Anniversary. The year 2024 marks a significant milestone in the history of our beloved institution as we celebrate 30 years of an incredible journey that QC has embarked on in shaping the minds of the youth, fostering innovation, and cultivating the culture of community engagement. The theme of our founding anniversary, “Education for Empowerment: Transforming Communities for Sustainable Futures,” encapsulates the very essence of our Local University’s mission.

For three decades, this institution has been committed to empowering QCitizens through free quality education, which in return has equipped them to become future-ready residents of Quezon City. As the city mayor, and at the same time chairperson of the Board of Regents of QCU, I take pride in how our local university embodies good governance. By putting the welfare of our students on top of the university’s priorities, we were able to achieve great strides and recognition in the past five years.

Indeed, our journey has been one of growth and unwavering belief that education is a powerful catalyst for change. Today, we are very proud that each QCU graduate walks through our doors, and carries with them the torch of knowledge that illuminates not only Quezon City but the whole world.

Once again, happy 30th founding anniversary to Quezon City University.
