HEALTH IS A FARM

Growing Food, Wellness, and Stronger Communities

A health-centered expansion of Joy is a Farm, now Happiness is a Farm.

wHY HEALTH IS A FARM

At Quezon City University, we believe health is a farm: it must be nurtured, protected, shared, and sustained.

We transform farms, gardens, hospitals, campuses, and community spaces into places that support whole-person and community health through food security, mental well-being, environmental care, meaningful learning, livelihoods, and stronger human connections.

FIVE DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH

Food & Physical Health

Promotes nutritious food, food literacy, active living, and safe, climate-smart growing practices.

Mental & Emotional Well-being

Uses gardens and nature-based activities to reduce stress and build resilience and inner well-being.

Economic Health & Resilience

Develops urban agriculture, livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and practical skills to strengthen incomes.

Social Health & Cohesion

Creates shared spaces for learning, collaboration, volunteering, and mutual support.

Environmental Health

Converts spaces into green areas, recovers organic waste, supports biodiversity, and climate resilience.

THREE PATHWAYS

1. EDUCATION

NSTP classes, research, and field learning build knowledge and skills.

2. ENVIRONMENT

We establish and improve farms, gardens, greenhouses, composting systems, and calming spaces.

3. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Learning becomes service. Research and outputs create real benefits for communities.
