The Quezon City Government, in partnership with Quezon City University (QCU)  and the Barangay and Community Relations Department (BCRD) successfully conducted the first session of the Speaker Feliciano R. Belmonte Jr. School of Good Governance Certificate Course on Public Finance on July 4, 2026.

The session, titled “Introduction to Public Finance in National and Local Contexts,” equipped participants with a stronger understanding of the principles and systems that underpin effective fiscal management and public governance.

Resource speaker Prof. Angelito Niño C. Verzosa, Jr. discussed the critical role of public finance in advancing good governance, sustainable development, and responsive public service. Participants explored key concepts on fiscal policy, government budgeting, revenue generation, and expenditure management, highlighting how sound financial practices contribute to transparent governance and improved service delivery.

The School of Good Governance continues to serve as a platform for capacity-building and leadership development, empowering public servants, community leaders, and governance advocates with the knowledge and competencies needed to promote ethical, accountable, and people-centered governance.

Through the continued collaboration of the Quezon City Government, QCU, and BCRD, the initiative reinforces a shared commitment to strengthening public sector leadership and advancing transparent, accountable, and responsive governance for the benefit of every Quezon City resident.
