Affordable Housing for QCU Employees Through the QC Housing Program

SDG 1 11 17

In 2024, Quezon City University (QCU) employees gained access to one of the most important benefits extended by the Quezon City Government—the QCitizens Homes Program. This city-wide initiative provides affordable and dignified housing to qualified Quezon City residents and employees, including those working in the university, as part of the city’s long-term commitment to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Through the program, QCU employees became eligible to apply for socialized housing and condominium units via loan schemes in partnership with PAG-IBIG Fund (up to ₱750,000) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (up to ₱450,000). For those unable to immediately own units, rental housing options were also made available, offering flexible terms through the “Kasunduan ng Pagpapaupa” agreement, with rates adjusted every three years by the Local Housing Board.

From 2020 to 2024, the Quezon City Government successfully provided 20,545 families—including city employees—with safe and stable homes. By opening this program to QCU personnel, the local government reinforced its vision of uplifting the lives of public servants while fostering stronger, more resilient communities.

For QCU employees, this initiative means more than just affordable housing. It reflects the city’s recognition of their contributions to education and development, ensuring that those who serve the community also enjoy secure, dignified, and sustainable living conditions.
