SDG 4 9 17

Quezon City University (QCU) and Krirk University of Thailand formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 4, 2025, marking a new milestone in advancing academic cooperation and global engagement, held via Zoom. The partnership aims to foster collaboration in research, education, and innovation, expanding opportunities for faculty and students of both institutions.

The virtual signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, President of QCU, together with the university’s college deans and representatives from the Research, Extension, Planning, and Linkages–Research Management Office (REPL-RMO). Representing Krirk University were the Vice President of the International Affairs Department, along with esteemed members of the International Affairs Department Office.

The partnership between the two universities traces its beginnings to the Global Sustainability Development Summit 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, where representatives from both institutions first met and began discussions on forging a cooperative agreement.

In her message, Dr. Atienza emphasized QCU’s commitment to expanding its internationalization agenda by fostering partnerships that support academic excellence and sustainable development. The Krirk University delegation likewise expressed enthusiasm for the MoU, seeing it as a platform for meaningful collaboration in addressing global challenges through education and research.

The event was made possible through the efforts of QCU-REPL-RMO and Dr. John Christopher Walsh, Dean at Krirk University.
