LOUD, PROUD, AND FILIPINO: ALAB IN IT – SummerSaya 2025 Org Fest Ignited QCU with Music, Unity, and Environmental Advocacy
It wasn’t just another Wednesday—it was a celebration of fire, pride, and purpose as Quezon City University held its first-ever Student Organizations’ Day through the highly anticipated “ALAB IN IT: SummerSaya 2025 Org Fest” last April 30, 2025.
From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the campus transformed into a vibrant playground of booths, games, and interactive activities hosted by QCU’s dynamic student organizations. Attendees explored org exhibits, played summer-themed games, and discovered communities they could proudly belong to—all under the scorching summer sun and the spirit of togetherness.
The festival pulsed with the theme “Are you informed… or not informed?!”, challenging every QCian to reflect, engage, and awaken their voice. Far from being an April Fools’ prank, the event was a bold, Filipino-powered celebration of student creativity, collaboration, and climate-consciousness.
In a strong nod to sustainability, a key highlight of the day was an orientation on the Guidelines in Reducing Plastic Wastes, led by Senior Environment Management Specialist Jesen Balingit and Environmental Expert Maila Soriano from the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department. Their talk empowered both QCU students and Quezon City Government employees to take meaningful action in minimizing plastic waste, reinforcing the university’s commitment to building a greener future.
As the sun set, the energy only climbed higher. By 5:00 PM, the QCU Gymnasium was packed with anticipation as it transformed into a full-scale concert venue. Student-led performances set the stage ablaze, culminating in a powerful and unforgettable show by pop/punk/alternative rock band “Ang Bandang Galing Taft.” Their electrifying set had the crowd singing, jumping, and living every lyric—proof that music remains one of the strongest unifiers of our generation.
From daylight festivities to night-long beats, ALAB IN IT: SummerSaya 2025 Org Fest proved to be more than a celebration. It was a fusion of purpose, pride, and Pinoy spirit—a statement that student voices are powerful, and when united, they can spark change and joy all at once.
🎶 Isang init. Isang tugtugan. Isang selebrasyon ng Org Pride! 🎶
The flame has been lit, and the legacy of ALAB has only begun. Until the next SummerSaya, QCians—keep the fire burning.
